New Configurable Constraints for Scenario Analysis
As part of the continuous evolution of Factible Tools, improvements have been made to both the model and the user interface, along with an update to the user manual, with the goal of providing greater flexibility and control during scenario analysis.
Model Enhancements
The Factible Tools model has been enhanced with two configurable constraints that offer increased flexibility and control.
The first is a single-source assignment option, which allows users to require that each customer be served exclusively from a single plant or distribution center. This reflects shipment consolidation policies or dedicated service schemes.
The second is a minimum shipment volume constraint, which ensures that any plant or distribution center used must ship at least a user-defined minimum volume. This supports operational or economic efficiency criteria.
Interface Configuration
Both functionalities can now be configured directly from the scenario parameters screen, where users can enable or disable each constraint (yes/no) and define the minimum volume threshold. This simplifies scenario analysis and policy evaluation without the need to modify the model code.
Updated Documentation
As part of these enhancements, the user manual has been updated to guide users in the implementation and use of these new features. If you would like to learn more about Factible Tools, click here
